The Tearing
Torn in this broken world
Will bring the covenant of healing
Throughout the ages of history
In the dark mirror of mystery
We see…
Pieces of animals
Lying by the trail
God will keep the covenant
Even when you fail
Only one party
Walks this dread path
I know that I cannot
Condemned by His wrath
Ages go by
We wait with confusion
Pursuing our sins
Settling for an illusion
After the feast day
When the sky all went dark
Your body ripped open
I hear the cry of Your heart
My God, My God
Why have You forsaken Me?
Ripped asunder from Your Father
Unbearable catastrophe
The temple veil is torn
Sign of reconciliation
No longer one privileged high priest
But God’s own chosen nation
Soul and body
Wrenched apart
In the hollow chill of darkness
Comes the forgiveness of Your heart

Barbed wire and cement
Can make a strong wall
And even if you get to go home
Things can never be the same
You have only your name
Do you fear the pity?
Or do you fear forgiveness?
It’s Over
Tonight I’ll dream
Of the way I’ll die
Wake up remembering
And the question is
How will I live?
How I will die doesn’t matter
Not so much anyway
Because what I have is today
So
How will I live this day?
Lost in the terror of shadows
Am I afraid to live
Or lost in this darkness,
Will I find hope…
Breathe, breathe
Wipe away the tears
Light follows darkness
One split second
And it’s over
